Smt. Sarkar is mother of a son and daughter. Her husband Provash Sarkar is working in a small firm. Their financial condition was to poor too run a small family in proper way with Childs education and they were passing through total hardship. She was very much concerned with her growing childs and their demands. When she was in such peculiar situation, at that point of time she came into the contact of one of the members of Jamuna group who explained her about presence of microfinance institution in the village and the benefits available out of it. She came to know that if she can properly manage the business, she will be able to run the family through her profession. Since she was a housewife but she knew how to prepare various materials for interior decoration. Since it was within her reach and does not attract high expenses, she decided to start the business in small shape so that she will not have to depend upon anybody else.
She decided to be a member of MFI and admitted herself in Jamuna Group on 13.08.2010. Being member she availed first loan of Rs. 5000/- in 2010. With the financial support received, she started manufacturing of bag with beads and fancy items for interior decoration. Success in the venture gave her lot of confidence and she repaid the loan in full. In order to increase the business volume and extend the selling points, second time she availed loan of Rs. 8000/- and and thus she could be able to raise annual income. Apart from selling the items locally she started selling in fair and other gathering. Thereafter she has gradually renewed the loan upwards to Rs. 10000, then to Rs. 12000 and then to Rs. 15000 and has been able to gradually raise annual income. This year she has availed loan of Rs. 17000 and repaying the loan regularly. With the enhanced loan she has increased the number of items and presently manufacturing big bags also. Moreover, at present she has not to go to differing selling points, rather the buyers are coming to her house and placing orders. She has been able to raise her income gradually and present monthly income is around Rs. 10000/-.
Not only expansion in business, the member has been able to get her both the sons studied in standard school and built her own house.
